ANOTHER WORDBOOK

The first of our close friends had his 60th birthday today so I set myself the task of making a special card and present.  The card was ready on the big day but the gift is still in pieces in a carrier bag. Hopefully I will have finished that by the day of the party in a couple of weeks.  The card is another wordbook which features Mike's interests- golf, music and wine.....using images from CD roms and the internet,

REGENCY SPLENDOR

Really enjoyed making this card for my sister using the new Debbi Moore magazine images and lots of lovely Wild Orchid flowers. Pity about the terrible photography.

Wordbook for Andy

I wasn't planning on doing a Wordbook but somehow it just happened.  Spent ages messing about with MCS to make it all the right size but ended up cutting out the pages and mounting them on cardboard so I need not have been so precise with the designing. Will definitely do this again - it was great fun.  Combined MCS images with images from the Internet to make it personal for Andy.

50'S PROM

Daughter, Kat is going to a hen weekend soon and the theme is going to be 50's Prom. She has been on-line and ordered her poodle skirt so I had the theme for her birthday card gifted to me. I used images from the My Craft Studio Glam 50's CD and embellished with black peel offs. Only just got round to photographing it- must try harder with the photography and investigate making a light tent.

VINTAGE RAILWAY POSTER FOR PHIL

The April birthdays keep rolling on- today it is my B-I-L Phil's birthday.  He likes old trains and lives in Bridlington on the east coast so I combined the two ideas on his card by finding an old vintage railway poster for Bridlington and combined it with background papers from Debbi Moore (free CD with her latest magazine) to come up with this card.  Did it easel style for a change.

LOTV CUTE SQUARES

Bought a set of the LOTV Big Squares called Tea and Chat as I have to admit that stamping and colouring is not my favourite part of card making.  Made this card for my M-I-L Eileen - she is not well at the moment so I hope she gets better soon. The backing paper is from a Nitwits digital collection- used it in the envelope as well.

MOTHER'S DAY

It's been a big weekend with my birthday and Mother's Day.  Here's the card I made for my Mum. Really enjoyed making it as I knew she would like it.  The photo is me and my sister and when Mum and I talked yesterday we decided it was taken exactly 50 years ago- wowzer.  Trying not to feel old.....  The penny has only just dropped that a 5" square of paper is the right size for using the Martha Stewart punches 'round the corner'.  Also used some of the lovely lace Mum gave me when I was up there for our crafty weekend.

Went to the theatre last night to see Chess (found a musical I didnt like- really didnt like the music).  The people behind us were talking and were surprised that the programme showed the actors as having web sites. They couldnt imagine anyone having enough information to put on a website. They obviously havent been out there in blogland.  I cant believe how many talented people there are out there using their love of paper and fabric to create mini works of art every day. So happy I have the opportunity to be creative.....

Still waiting patiently for my Cuttlebug!!

MOTHER'S DAY

It's card season good and proper.  Here is the first of the 2 cards I made for Mother's Day- this one is for my Mother-In-Law Eileen. The photo is her Mother. Even managed to post it on time so it arrived before the day!
